A Pair of Suspects Formally Indicted for Inmate Homicide of Ex-Lostprophets Vocalist Ian Watkins
Two men have been formally charged with murder following the death in prison of former Lostprophets singer and adjudicated child sex criminal Ian Watkins.
The two men, Rashid Gedel (25) and Samuel Dodsworth (43) have both been charged with murder and are set to face Leeds magistrates’ court on Monday morning, according to police authorities.
Watkins, 48, was in the midst of a 29-year prison term at HMP Wakefield, plus an additional six years on license, after pleading guilty to multiple sexual crimes including the effort to sexually assault an infant.
Watkins was taken into custody following a drugs warrant at his Pontypridd home on 21 September 2012, when a significant quantity of computers, mobile phones and data storage units were taken as evidence.
