Britain Ready to Employ Frozen Russia's Funds to Support Ukraine's Military Campaign
The United Kingdom is ready to advance with using the total value of frozen Russia's holdings to aid Ukraine's defense operations, PM Sir Keir Starmer has announced.
In a collective announcement, the leaders of the Britain, the French Republic, and the Federal Republic of Germany asserted that this joint measure would increase strain on Moscow's head Vladimir Putin and urge Moscow to participate in talks.
They further noted that the initiative would be executed in strong partnership with the America.
British sanctions have blocked more than £25bn of Russia's assets since Moscow launched its full-scale invasion against Ukraine in 2022. But, until now, funds sent to Ukraine using Russia's assets had only been sourced from profits and interest accrued on them.
Sir Keir told Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that the United Kingdom, France, and the Federal Republic of Germany were in agreement in their goal to drive progress toward utilizing the total worth of the immobilized Moscow's national holdings to halt hostilities.
He noted that additional measures in the coming days and weeks would apply more pressure on the Russian government.
This declaration is subsequent to European officials gathered in the Danish capital recently to consider using immobilized Russia's holdings for a 140-billion-euro credit to Ukraine.
Recently, US President Donald Trump encouraged G7 allies to confiscate or employ seized Russian assets, according to reports.
The worth of seized Russian holdings in the Europe is assessed to be almost €211bn.

The Russian government carried out extensive bombardments all over Ukraine on recently, leading to blackouts in significant regions of Kyiv, the city, and several other zones.
