19 of the Russian's twenty-one championships have been won on hardcourt

A comeback Daniil Medvedev won his initial championship for nearly 30 months with success over opponent Moutet in the competition final.

Medvedev, a former top-ranked player, has had a difficult season, managing just a single victory at the major tournaments and undergoing a meltdown at the US Open.

Medvedev's unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and issues with his serving in especial - led to him falling of the elite rankings and eventually splitting with long-term coach Gilles Cervara.

Presently working with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has steadily progressed in the past month - culminating in a closely contested three-set win over opponent Moutet.

This represents the player's maiden championship following the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hardcourt after that period of 2023.

Victory also means the Russian has won twenty-one titles at 21 different tournaments.

"For the first time I have attended a event with my both daughters at once, so to get a championship is really nice," commented tennis professional the champion.

"This title is in tribute of my child Victoria, because the initial championship I achieved when my child my daughter was delivered was for her."

Medvedev, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his past six championship matches, featuring in that event earlier this year.

The player's defensive approach and frequent emotional displays on the playing surface had prompted observers to doubt if his skill to perform at the highest level was finished.

But the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in the past month, attempting to come to the net and perform assertively, supported by an enhanced serve.

The champion recovered from a disadvantage in the initial set against the difficult opponent, securing four of the concluding five games to take the lead.

Both players swapped breaks in the middle set before Moutet, striving for his first professional victory, gained dominance to push for a third set.

Moutet saved 4 early-game chances in a competitive third set before the champion broke to fifteen to secure the win.

Suitably, he secured the title with a point at the net, with Moutet unable to manage a volley after over two and a half hours.
