Patriots Match Best Winning Streak Since Brady Years with Triumph Over Jets

Patriots rookie TreVeyon Henderson in action

First-year player Henderson has tallied five scores this season

New England equaled their top unbeaten stretch since the Brady period as they defeated AFC East rivals the New York Jets 27-14 in the NFL

First-year standout Henderson shone brightly with three touchdowns as the Patriots claimed an eight-game winning streak for the initial occasion since iconic QB Brady's final season with the franchise in 2019

Quarterback Drake Maye passed for 281 passing yards and a score, connecting on 25 out of 34 attempts

Victory extends the Patriots advantage at the top of the AFC East as they advanced to a 9-2 record, with the New York at the foot after slipping to two wins and eight losses

The visitors had gone in front at Gillette Stadium with quarterback Justin Fields running in a five-yard touchdown to cap the New York's first possession

But the New England answered in the second period as Henderson rushed for two short rushing scores before the ball carrier grabbed a reception from Maye at the rear of the end zone halfway into the third period to make it 21-7

"It was a big time for him delivering, and it's been excellent for him to keep gaining experience," Maye commented on Henderson. "He desires to be great."

Fields threw to Metchie late in the third period to reduce the lead for the visitors but Borregales booted a two kicks in the final period as the home side wrapped up the win
