Plane Transporting Pete Hegseth Forced to Touch Down in UK Due to Crack in Windshield
A plane transporting the US defense secretary was required to make an unscheduled landing in the United Kingdom on Wednesday after a crack was found in the plane's windshield, according to an official statement which verified that Hegseth was safe.
"The aircraft landed following standard procedures and all individuals on the flight, including Pete Hegseth, is unharmed," a spokesperson said in a public statement.
The secretary was coming back from a brief trip to the Belgian capital when the incident occurred.
This event isn't the initial instance that a US military aircraft transporting a high-ranking official has suffered equipment failures.
In a previous incident this year, a United States Air Force aircraft transporting the US Secretary of State to the German city of Munich was forced to head back to Washington DC after suffering a technical issue.
