Skydance Paramount Will Cut Nearly 2,000 United States Roles – Update
Paramount Skydance will begin significant workforce reductions the week of 27 October, removing approximately 2,000 US jobs as part of a cost-cutting plan valued at $2bn led by top executive David Ellison.
The layoffs follow the merger of Skydance Media and Paramount Global, completed during August worth $8.4bn.
More overseas workforce reductions are anticipated, as the firm intending to announce full details via its third quarter earnings report on 10 November.
Prior news had indicated the company was looking to cut from 2,000 and 3,000 roles before the start of November.
Until December 2024, the organization had nearly 18,600 full- and part-time employees plus 3,500 project-based staff.
The company has not provided a response regarding the report.
