Star Refutes Anti-Vax Stance Following Voicing Controversial Pandemic Film
The acclaimed actor has given his narration to a new documentary that questions the safety of vaccines and praises ex- government figure RFK Jr.
The Film's Provocative Basis
Named "Plague of Corruption," the project is based on a popular book written by a disgraced researcher, who rose to infamy during the global outbreak for claims that Covid was linked to a problematic version of the influenza shot.
Her co-author, a producer, has previously authored books with far-right figure Alex Jones. The producer recently posted celebrating Neeson's role in the documentary.
A Strong Rebuttal
Representatives for the actor have issued a statement strongly denying implications that he holds anti-vax sentiments.
"We all recognize that unethical practices may occur within the pharmaceutical industry, but that should never be conflated with opposition to vaccines," the statement reads. "Liam never has been, and cannot be described as, anti-vax. His extensive work with the UN children's agency reinforces his enduring support for global immunisation initiatives."
It continued that the performer did not shape the documentary's messaging and that inquiries about its claims should be directed to the filmmakers.
Central Assertions Within the Feature
As presented, the voiceover provided by Neeson makes several strong statements:
- It claims that pro-vaccine voices have insisted on "complete compliance" to public institutions.
- It argues that "science has become dangerously politicised."
- RFK Jr is shown saying, "The big problem with vaccines is that they simply are not properly vetted."
- It also criticizes pandemic restrictions, saying they caused severe distress that cost thousands of lives.
- Regarding the immunizations, it cites a report that they were "rushed to market" and seen as "hazardous tests."
Past Background and Current Issues
The documentary includes a past television report about HIV drug testing on children, which was afterwards the subject of a formal apology by the broadcaster for editorial breaches.
Recently, the political figure called on the Centers for Disease Control to revise its long-held position that there is no connection between vaccines and autism spectrum disorder. This claim is echoed in the documentary, even with a recent study from the WHO stating no connection has been found.
An Earlier Position of Support
Standing in contrast to the documentary's message, Neeson has previously voiced clear advocacy for vaccines in his position as a Unicef global ambassador.
In 2022, he called vaccines as "an extraordinary human success story," stating that "The discourse about vaccines in the past few years has forgotten how much benefit they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest human endeavors in human history."
"Plague of Corruption" ends with Neeson's script saying, "This is not the finish of our journey. Rather, it is the beginning of a new chapter."
